Localised Web is managed by a dynamic duo with complementing skills and expertise areas such as marketing, communication, CAT tools, workflow, pricing and project management. It is a partnership of two industry professionals, Juha Valtonen and Lajka Birkedal Hollesen, originally from Finland and Denmark and both with several years of experience and relevant know-how in the language service sector. Throughout the years they have gained valuable insight about best practice that is now translated into optimised workflows and applied methods.
Since 2005 Juha Valtonen has supplied linguistic services on a full time basis for more than 450 different clients with a main focus on technical translation. Moreover, he is a long time supplier of app and software testing as well as remote support, customer relationship management and credential management for larger IT companies. He has been a certified Pro Member at Proz.com since 2008.
Lajka Birkedal Hollesen has an MA in International Business Communication from Copenhagen Business School followed by courses in Interaction Design, Usability & User Experience and Service Design at the IT University of Copenhagen. Since 2009 she has provided linguistic services for many sectors and companies as well as within public administration at national and European level covering areas such as journalism, translation, proofreading, subtitling and online marketing. Her main specialist areas are the European Union, subtitles, IT / SEO, travel and leisure.
Pietari Valtonen holds an MA in English Translation and Interpreting Studies from the University of Helsinki, Finland. He studied English Literature, Finnish and Czech and has over 20 years of experience in the fields of public service interpreting, translation, content creation and subtitling. He has provided services for top names in the travel, marketing, streaming and manufacturing industries worldwide. Pietari is based in Prague, Czech.
Stine Jensen has an MA in Translation and Intercultural Mediation from the University of Salamanca in English and Spanish and a BA in International Business Communication in European Studies and Spanish as a business language from Copenhagen Business School followed by an ECQA certification as Advanced Terminology Manager by TermNet. Currently she is doing a PhD in Terminology and Language Technology at the University of Salamanca. She has been working as a terminologist since 2016 and started her career in the European Parliament, first in the Danish Translation, then in the Central Terminology Coordination.
Valeria La Maestra has a degree in Graphic and Multimedia Design from the ORT Institute of Technology in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has 13 years of experience working on different design projects such as logos, brochures, books as well as magazine and newspaper advertisements. In addition to her degree she specialised further in WordPress, Joomla, Mailchimp, Internet security, Facebook and Instagram ads. For the last five years she has mainly provided web design, newsletter services and social media management for professionals, companies and e-commerce providers from all over the world.
